Feeding the Hungry

We are called to reach out to those in need and help to feed the body as well as the soul.

Here are some opportunities to help provide food to others

Brown Bag Program (monthly)

Make sure you mark your calendars for the
second Sunday of every month

to come together to help make sandwiches after worship services.

The 300+ lunches that we put together are then taken to those who are in dire need in downtown Los Angeles.
Drivers and donations are always needed.

It is a guarantee…you WILL be blessed by this ministry! See Garret Klindt for more questions.

HopeNet Food Pantry (Weekly)

HopeNet Needs Volunteers – Fridays & Saturdays

We have been able to support HopeNet for years. This organization is comprised of numerous houses of worship throughout Los Angeles, giving of their time and treasures to run countless food pantries around the city. In 2010, MCCLA partnered with Mt. Hollywood Congregational Church to make a pantry in Los Feliz a reality. Housed at Mt. Hollywood Congregational, and organized by MCCLA, both churches staff the pantry every week.

If you have time on:

Friday afternoons

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm to unload food and ready the pantry for Saturday mornings or

Saturday mornings

8:00 am – 11:00 am to hand out food

please contact Jose Narciso hopenet@mccla.org or Rev. Dr. Pat Langlois. revpat@mccla.org

Emergency Food Pantry

You Can Help by Donating Food to the MCCLA Food Pantry

More people are now using our Food Pantry than ever before…not only those on Sunday but throughout the week. If you are able to make a contribution it would be much appreciated by all. If you are in need during the week or on a Sunday, please call the office and we will have a bag ready for you.

Gifts that would be particularly welcome include:

  • Boost (Chocolate preferred, but all flavors appreciated. Boost is the desired nutritional supplement as it doesn’t need to be refrigerated to taste good).
  • Canned vegetables or foods.
  • Applesauce
  • Hygienic products
  • Soaps, toothbrush/toothpaste, combs
  • Bottled water

If you are in need or know someone who is in need, please avail yourself of these programs.

If you would like to help with any of these, your assistance is always needed and appreciated.
